Kintatsu began from a deep passion for authentic and traditional fine Japanese arts — from antiques, ceramics, fabrics, lacquerware, prints, scrolls and beyond. What started as a dedicated hobby of collecting soon grew into a mission: to share Japan’s artistic treasures with the world.

Based in Kyoto, surrounded by artisans, craft studios, and antique markets, we carefully hand-select each item directly from local makers and long-established companies. Every piece embodies Japan’s traditional craftsmanship, timeless design, and handmade quality.

Many of our finds are one-of-a-kind or limited editions — bringing a touch of Japan’s rich cultural heritage and unique beauty to homes across the globe.
